Tomorrowland Wall Art - Part 2
As promised, here is the second Stitch-themed mural from the Merchants of Venus in Walt Disney World's Tomorrowland. The purple experiment looking down from the TTA Station is sporting a set of Mickey Ears, while the small yellow one in the plaza is clutching tightly to its own blue Mickey balloon. Fun stuff.

I like the hidden Mickey ears on the dude standing on the TTA platform (darn that Steve Barrett!! Now I'm searching for these things everywhere!!) LOL
Great post!
Maybe you can help me with something. I was going through home videos the other day and found this clip of me watching a Disney Documentary or something, and can't figure out what it is. http://mickeystrailer.com/2007/05/29/disney-home-video-mystery/
When those were first put up in Merchant of Venus, I kind of just glanced right over them saying "oh, that's nice". But looking at them now, I have to say.. I'm impressed they actually did a CGI reconstruction of Rockettower Plaza and it's subtle enough that I'd never noticed it was all rebuilt with a few photo wraps in the background. Notice how much more appropriate the area is with the Green Men gone from atop the Buzz Cart? And why'd they bother to totally rebuild the plaza just for wall graphics and neglect to put in the text on the attraction marquees?
Madness. =)
I thought about that, too, Foxx - why they didn't put in attraction/restaurant names. Maybe this is supposed to be at some other point in time than the present, and who knows, maybe in the future the Lunching Pad could be the "Ratatouille Grill" or something to that effect. You know, a perfect fit for Tomorrowland. ;)
Actually, it's been well known for some time that The Lunching Pad will be renamed in October to Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater's Quicker Grease Bucket Stop and Cosmic Ray's will become the Ratatouille Refreshment Roundabout. They're going to remove Sonny Eclipse and say that it's Remy playing the keyboard, he's just so small you can't see him so well.
Original plans called for these two names to be reversed due to Ray's proximity to the Raceway, but saner heads prevaled so that the Cars eatery could be close to not only the Buzz Lightyear ride, but the upcoming overlay: Carousel of Lasseter. Conversley, Space Mountain will be rethemed to Brad Bird Butte Featuring Disney*Pixar's The Incredibles and The Steel Collosus (who will look remarkably close to, but will not actually be, The Iron Giant) as you ride out the great San Fransisco Earthquake of 1903.
By 2010, Tomorrowland will be renamed Mike Scopa Presents: TIMELESSLAND! and a 50 foot high perimeter wall will be built around it. At this time, seperate admission will be required to even think about Mike Scopa Presents: TIMELESSLAND!
Cool picture.I like all the neat little tid bits I get from reading your blog.I will be looking forward to see these in a week.
...and yet, another classic mural of the alien experiments playing tourist in a theme park. D'aww!
