It's Official!

The wand is coming down.

Long the subject of debate, the infamous Mickey Mouse arm and sorcerer's wand that adorns Spaceship Earth at Epcot is going to be dismantled, beginning next week. Check this link for all the details.

Thank goodness.
Next in line: the hat gets moved to the wide open area outside the entrance to Disney Studios, restoring the theater to its rightful place as park 'weenie.'
Then, the tombstones in front of Spaceship Earth find a more appropriate home. (Perhaps in Michael Eisner's front yard?)

OK, and just to show I'm not into WDW as 'museum,' I believe the new DVC resort going up next to the Contemporary is actually beautiful...and its style compliments the Contemporary and doesn't ruin any sight lines from within the Magic Kingdom. Look carefully; it doesn't obstruct any straight-line views from the Bay Lake side of the Contemporary, either.

Hallelujah!

Now I won't have to crop that eyesore out my Spaceship Earth photos.

Hey, hey, hey! The wand wasn't all that bad.

And neither is the hat.

I honestly didn't expect it this soon. With just a few more minor changes I might have to take my blog (fixepcot.com) down...

These changes aren't accidental. Now that Team Pixar has arrived we're going to see a sea-change of creativity as well as the slow-but-sure dismantling of Eisner's latter-day "saints" abominations, er, additions.
Amen!

I remember Blue Sky Disney mentioning that this might happen. I didn't believe it until now. Now if they will move that hat!
