That is an interesting choice of numbers on the caboose, why 13? There has to be a reason....right?

It is all about the details...
Walt Disney actually built the original caboose himself from scratch. The caboose has a secret latch that allows a hinged section to be opened so you can see the insides, which contains a pot bellied stove, bunk and other assorted necessities.
The original caboose is currently on display with the rest of Walt's train at the Walt Disney Family Foundation's warehouse in San Francisco.
