Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland is Snapshot! heaven. Design and color mix for pure eye candy wherever you turn. Even something as mundane as a mailbox becomes a visual treat.
Toontown is fabulous, my wife and I spent hours there last October! While you're checking out the mailbox, be sure that you don't forget the doorknobs Jeff!
You spent almost 8 hours in Toontown alone and all you took was ONE photo? LOL Really glad you found your "happy place" there (although pushing the 5 year-olds out of the way so you can get that shot was a little much)
All of Toontown is made for photography, so many sight gags and of course the wild and creative architecture... I would agree with Lou though, tossing little kids out of the way to get photos might, just might, be a bit too much.
Toontown is a great place, especially if you take your time and keep your eyes open. Like a lot of the park, there's tons-o-fun to be had without standing in a line. Thanks for the great site!
As to what happens when you open the mailbox, my dad, Rob Hummel, was working at Imagineering while Toontown was being built and actually lent his voice to the mailbox, the police phone, and Mickey and Minnie's respective radios.
So, to put it simply, my childhood happens when you open that mailbox. :) -C
