Here's a classic Freeze Frame! from
The Little Mermaid, the feature that essentially ushered in Disney's animation renaissance of the early 1990s. Mickey, Donald and Goofy were all on hand for Sebastian's ill fated concert near the beginning of the film. Maybe this is where the trio ended up after their ship went down in the classic 1938 cartoon
Boat Builders. An even keener eye will spot a number of mer-people throughout the same undersea audience sporting Mickey Mouse ears.
Thanks Jeff, Freeze Frame is consistently one of my favorite sections of the blog. It gives Four color fun a run for its money.
ReplyDeleteNow, I want to know what in the world made you think of zooming in on a frame of a Disney movie.
ReplyDeleteI'd heard about this particular scene elsewhere and even then it was a challenge to find the precise spot in the film.
ReplyDeleteMy frame by frame "treasure hunts" pretty much started when I purchased the laser disc version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit back in the late 80s.
It just so happened that I saw this blog post right before my wife decided she wanted to watch the Little Mermaid. So I actually got to see this with my own eyes.
ReplyDeleteAwesome easter egg!
Great find Jeff!
